Curse Of the Folden Flower

Not all good movies have a happy ending, and not all movies with a sad ending is a bad movie.
In this movie, Gong Li plays a seducing empresses who is having an arrair with the crown prince, who at the same time is having another affair with a palace maid, xiao chan, also the daughter of the imperial physican who is instructed to poison the empress's medicine discreetly.

Prince Jai, the second prinace (played by Jay Chou), returns to the palace to find that his mother (the empress) is going to die due to the poison in the medicine. He promises to help the empress in her plan and decides to do what is morally right, instead of what is written in the law books.

However, the plan is countered by the Emperor&Crown Prince's own plan that they hatched after learning about the empress's plan. Close to the ending, there's a lot of bloodshed and it is during a fight that a person's character is revealed, not built, as we can see from all the faithful soldiers who courageously go into battle and following orders given out by Prince Jai, well knowing that this was a battle they could never have won.

In the end, everyone dies, save the emperor and the empress. You dont know what happened to them, but the movie leaves you spellbound and thirsting for more, but all you see is the credits rolling and all you hear is a magnificent song with striking lyrics penned and composed by Jay Chou.

In conclusion, this movie is definitely one not to be missed. :)

Thats my christmas. Watching that. And um. my cousins came over and then my sibs and I went to watch it with KelKel. At night, Angela and family came over and we just bummed around wasting time hahaha. Wow its amazing how much time we can waste hoho. :)
